Welcome to another Issue of Irish Sport Horse Magazine. We have some Fantastic articles for you this time, with the theme of the August 2020 Magazine being Irish Staycation and Looking forward to Olympics 2021.
We have a new member of the Irish Sport Horse Magazine Team, Jordan Bastian from Colorado State University is doing a Virtual Work Placement with us, as she has a passion for Horses and Writing. Jordan is a talented writer and a pleasure to work with and we are certain that she will have a wonderful future in this Industry. Jordan first article shares Irish Sport Horse Magazines 5 Hot Spots for your Irish Equestrian Staycation.
Keeping with the Staycation Theme we hear from Zara Stassin from Zara’s Planet. Zara runs a hugely successful travel business that organises Equestrian Holidays all over the world, however due to the Pandemic, Zara shares some of her absolute favourite Irish Equestrian Staycations that will have you chomping at the bit to get exploring our beautiful Emerald Isle on Horseback.
We also hear from Equipeople, who organise work experience and work placement for Equestrian Students wanting to gain some Equine Knowledge and Experience overseas. Although this year may be out, there is always next year, so start planning that trip of a lifetime!
From Ireland to India, we chat to Kate O’Brien a young Irish Woman who shares her story of following her dream of starting and running an Equestrian Business in India, proving that actions are what make dreams come true.
Jessica Soley discusses the importance of Saddle Safety and the warning signs to look for when cleaning your tack. While Jordan gives you a Step by Step Guide on How to Tack up with a Western Saddle, and she also shares a Super Video she made, showing you exactly how it’s done, there is a link to the Video, which is on our New YouTube Channel.
Lastly we reached out to one member of each of Qualifying Olympic Equestrian Teams, to discover how they had been managing during lockdown and how they and their teams had kept motivated during the past few months. We want to say a Special Thank you to Cathal Daniels, Judy Reynolds and Darragh Kenny for taking the time out of their busy schedules to chat to us. We are glad to say that our Irish Equestrians are staying positive and working toward the future.
